This hands-on presentation will provide examples of why many job postings fall flat, particularly regarding inclusion, and four ways recruiters can refresh this content with inclusion in mind. You'll walk away with tactics to increase qualified candidate engagement by as much as 300%, and you'll reach many more qualified candidates from diverse backgrounds.
You'll learn how to:
Embrace more effective strategies when describing skills and education requirements in your job postings
...and more!
Angie Verros
In this session, Angie will showcase how her team has helped organizations scale during their most critical times. Our sourcers, our team -- your time zone, your tech, your compliance needs. Our expertise when it comes to finding qualified candidates is unmatched. How do we do it?
Mark Tortorici
As staffing professionals, we have extremely time-consuming jobs. The hiring managers that we support are just as busy. Both of us are driven by deadlines and are under pressure to deliver results. Both of us bring a certain expertise to the table when we interact. So why are there so many disconnects? Why are hiring managers looking for one thing while the recruiter or sourcer looks for something else?
There are some very good steps that you can take when working with hiring managers. From the initial req intake, through sourcing, and all the way until candidate closing, there are improvements that you can make at every stage. In this session, Mark Tortorici will talk about hiring manager hacks that you can use, no matter what size the company. This includes everything from research, strategies, planning, intake meetings, sourcing, resume reviews, candidate write ups, interview preps, and interactions that make up the staffing professional - hiring manager relationship. Be prepared to come take notes, discuss ideas and share stories about how the respect of the hiring manager was gained. You'll come away from this training with a set of tools and hacks that you can use to elevate your role within your hiring organization.

Glen Cathey
Introverts account for about one in three people among all genders, races, ethnicities and ages. Unfortunately, the unconscious “extrovert ideal” present in many cultures leads to work environments in which introverts feel as if they don’t belong and where they earn and get promoted less than extroverts. In this session, Glen will share his experiences and insights from navigating the world of work as an introvert, make the case for including introversion in diversity, neurodiversity, and inclusion efforts and offer practical suggestions for creating environments in which introverts can bring their authentic selves to work.
Lars Schmidt
We’re living in the golden age of community in HR and recruiting. Gone are the days when we believed in a zero-sum game of recruiting and kept our practices locked away with a black box mentality. The rise of open-source practices is propelling the field forward at an accelerating pace. Community will be the foundation of this new world of work we’re building - together.
In this interactive keynote, Amplify Founder, Lars Schmidt, will share lessons, stories and failures from over twenty years of community building from offline to online spanning the Entertainment Human Resources Group (EHRN), HR Open Source and the Amplify Accelerator communities.
Need a little mid-day break? Make sure to stop by our networking lunch to refuel and recharge for the rest of the day.
